Uncommon and local in open ponderosa pine forests of Kittitas County. With one exception (near Cle Elum airport), BBA records limited to Naneum, Colockum, and Manastash districts and do not support broadly mapped distribution across ponderosa pine zone predicted by Washington Gap report (Smith et al. 1997). Species has probably declined historically, being closely linked to old stands of ponderosa pine, many of which have long since been logged off.
