Common in wet meadows and pastures in Kittitas Valley. Uncommon in montane meadows and marshes on both sides of Cascade crest. Uncommon to rare in wet marshes and pastures in Puget Trough lowlands, where perhaps declining. Needs emergent vegetation for nesting.
